Landsdowne Park and Tropical Garden Engagement | Sierra + Jay
Sierra and Jay’s paths first crossed on a varsity soccer game trip over 10 years ago! Jay played on the team as a senior and Sierra was there to support friends. Sierra caught Jay checking her out in the hallway several times, so she decided to make the first move and send him a Facebook friend request. Their connection was instant. From that day forward, they talked on the phone about anything and everything until the sun came out and somehow still made it to school the next morning because they were so excited to see one another. After that school year, Jay went off to post-secondary and with them being at two very different stages in their lives, quickly grew apart. They kept in touch over the years, but moved on to new relationships.
Fast forward to 2015. Sierra woke up to a text message from Jay. She was recently single - so she thought, ‘convenient timing’! She decided that there was no harm to catch up with him. It was as if they hadn’t skipped a beat. Their drink turned to a catch up on life and deep discussions on how their life experiences had shaped them. From that night on, they have been inseparable and it was not long before Sierra knew that Jay was the one.
Their love for travelling runs deep, so Jay planned a perfect surprise proposal during their trip to Positano, Italy. Sierra had planned on getting their photos taken by a local photographer, so Jay took the extra step to plan the proposal while they were getting their photos taken during the last stop of their 20 day European adventure! She was completely shocked when he got down on one knee and now they have beautiful photos to remember that special milestone.
For their engagement shoot, we walked around Landsdowne Park where they went on their first date, then hopped on over to the Tropical Gardens for sunset photos. We lucked out by just missing the last downpour of the day and we got candy cane skies to prove it!
Sierra, Jay - thank you for letting me capture this chapter of your beautiful love story and I’m so excited to photograph your wedding next year at the Cumberland Heritage Museum!
