Wakefield Quarry Engagement Shoot | Lauren + Skylar
It was December 2011, they had just finished writing their final exams and a group of friends were hanging out afterwards celebrating the much anticipated down-time that comes after the grueling exam period. Lauren and Skylar were first introduced through a mutual friend at this one hang-out and immediately bonded over their love of country music. It wasn’t until a few months later, and several asks from Skylar, that Lauren agreed to go on their first date. Lauren knew Skylar was the real deal when she moved away to London, Ontario on a 6 month-job contract and he whole-heartedly supported her career choice. He even drove down with Lauren’s parents to help her get set up and immediately began counting down the days until he was going to visit her next.
Because of Skylar’s hectic work schedule in the golf industry, it was nearly impossible to plan summer vacations. Finally, last year and with very short notice, a trip to Niagara Falls was in the books and Skylar excitedly took the opportunity to propose to Lauren on their last night at the falls as they waited for the fireworks to start. For whatever reason, the fireworks never ended up igniting that night, but I have a hunch that that night would be memorable for them regardless.
Lauren wanted to have their photos taken somewhere unique and so the quarry in Wakefield seemed to be the perfect spot for these two! They’ve invited us down with them to capture their love in Mexico for their wedding in November, and their engagement photos are a tiny glimpse of all the fun and gorgeousness we’ll experience hanging out on the beach with this beautiful couple.
Of course, I couldn’t choose just a handful of favourites, so I’m blasting a huge selection below!
