Laura and Dan’s wedding was the best way to end off our 2018 wedding season! When I asked Laura what the overall feel of her wedding would be, she said, "Wildflowers. Lots and lots of wildflowers!”. It was like she was speaking to my soul. Their wedding was a flower-filled autumn affair in Almonte at Evermore.
Laura brought on the fall aesthetic with the prettiest colour palette: mauve, blush, maroon, and lots of creams and greens in the mix. With an off the shoulder wedding dress from White Satin Bridal, unique mis-matched bridesmaid dresses and the most gorgeous florals by Pollen Nation Floral Studios, Laura’s wedding truly embodied boho-chic. She had knew that she had to have Cat from The Cake Whisperer to design her dream wedding cake after having followed her on instagram for a long while!
What stood out to me most though, was Dan’s reaction when he saw his bride walking down the aisle. Even though they had already seen each other during their first look and bridal portraits earlier in the day, he was trying his hardest to hold back his tears, but they kept on running throughout the ceremony! It was truly an honour to witness their commitment to one another amidst their closest family and friends.
I couldn't resist but post lots and lots of images from their special day! I promise, it’s worth looking through until the very end!
Laura and her girls got ready at The Grand Hotel, a charming, boutique hotel in Carleton Place.
Laura got her dress from White Satin Bridal in Ottawa and it perfectly fit her free-spirited nature!
Katherine from Pollen Nation Floral Studios outdid herself with the design and creation of the bridal bouquet, and each one of the bridesmaids bouquets too!
There was plenty of time to hang out with her besties before heading off to the first look. Lunch was served, gifts were give and laughs were shared.
Laura kept breaking out into laughter! It was such a fun time capturing these special moments with her best ladies.
The rooms at The Grand Hotel are filled with natural light and airy spaces; a perfect getting ready location, especially for weddings taking place at Evermore (not a far distance away!).
In the meantime, Dan got ready at his family’s home, and looking quite snazzy!
Lots of smiles and hugs from Dan’s mom!
Laura went back and forth about whether or not to have a first look.
And I think his reaction made it all worth it!
Ok everyone, so here is where I kind of went all crazy. I couldn’t choose between my favourites to highlight in this post, so I posted A LOT of portraits. I just loved them all so much. So, sit back and enjoy these two cuties!
The day was calling for rain, so a tent was set up outdoors.
Big thanks again to Pollen Nation Floral Studio for their garden-inspired floral arrangements that just cannot be beat!
That is what I call a beaming groom!
The flower girls forgot to lay the flower petals for their processional, so we made due by having guests sprinkle them in the air during the recessional instead! I think it worked out wonderfully!
We had a few moments to capture the reception space at Evermore before guests scurried in from the cold outside.
This has got to be the most beautiful cake I’ve ever seen, done by the talented Kat from The Cake Whisperer!
And now, lots of fun, laughter and relaxation during the rest of the reception!
