This love story began far away in the Australian outback when a free-spirited Canadian backpacker met an intelligent, down-to-earth British boy during a weekend getaway in Airlie Beach. What started off with Gillian daring Chris to climb up a coconut tree, which he apparently didn’t do a great job of, soon blossomed into something they both didn’t expect. It didn’t take too long before Chris called his mother back home to tell her that he had met someone special and that she could be ’the one’. Fast forward to a few years later, after they both made Cambridge, Canada their home, these two adventurous people promised to love, support and care for one another wherever they may end up being in the world, witnessed by 40 of their family members and closest friends. Gillian - your adventures around the world including those mishaps in France on a mo-ped, to building schools in Peru and supporting communities in Guatemala attest to your kind-heartedness, compassion for others and resilience in the face of difficulty. Beautiful qualities that your family and friends, including Chris, admire so very much. Chris - your calm demeanour, open-mindedness and ability to automate anything and everything are just a few qualities that Gill loves in you. You two were made for one another and I am so happy to have witnessed and captured your wedding day at the Special Events Centre in Hanover. Enjoy your honeymoon in Nepal this fall!
