Byward Market Engagement Shoot | Hanan + Said

Byward Market Engagement Shoot | Hanan + Said

We first met Hanan and Said on the day of their engagement shoot and couldn't help but fall in love with this bubbly, romantic couple.  With mild February weather (right before the storm!), they walked through the busy streets, hand-in-hand and smiles all around. We could not put down our camera for a single second during this shoot!  Whenever we tried, these two would hug so closely, laugh with one another and just be so in love as if we were not there clicking away.

I know what you did last winter: tips on getting through Canada's cold!

I know what you did last winter: tips on getting through Canada's cold!

For most, the gruelling -35 degree celcius weather with wind chill that would make your nose hairs freeze over in seconds, isn't the type of weather that makes you skip down the icy sidewalk.  Canadian winters can be harsh, limit your motivation and physical activity, and may just make you want to curl up in the warmest corner of your home and go to sleep until Spring.

You know the saying, if you can't beat 'em, join 'em?  Being a native Ottawan (Batoul!), we've come up with a number of ways to get over the winter blues and instead appreciate what mother nature has driven our way.

Sarsfield Barn Wedding: Brittany + Samer

Sarsfield Barn Wedding: Brittany + Samer

They went on their first date ten years ago during the wonderful days of high school.  The date was on the local bus, the OC Transpo, where they slowly but surely began falling in love.  Today, after ten beautiful years together, they stood hand-in-hand professing their commitment and love for one another in front of their family and closest friends.

Experimental Farm Wedding: Alina + Mahmood

Experimental Farm Wedding: Alina + Mahmood

As Alina put on the final touches to her makeup, the scattered rain showers we were worried about suddenly stopped.  Our backup umbrellas would not be needed today!  Both Alina and Mahmood were getting over a cold after a week’s worth of hard earned family celebrations leading up to their wedding day.  They’ve been engaged for over two years, living a long-distance relationship, and were both so happy that their special day was finally upon them.
