Lauren knew that a destination wedding to Mexico was the perfect way to celebrate their incredible love story and marriage. Together, with 60 of their family members and closest friends, against the backdrop of the exquisite Mexican riviera, they said their I do’s and celebrated the night away with sand between their toes and a wave of palm trees swaying in the warm tropical breeze.

That morning, Lauren got ready with three of her closest friends, while Skylar and the groomsmen relaxed in the water before the beach ceremony took place. Lauren brought Ottawa with her to Mexico, with an intricately-detailed mermaid dress from With Love Bridal, by Essense of Australia and Sarah Walsh Bridal fresh-water pearls (and earrings were gifted to her special ladies) flow with the coastal theme.

Besides the turquoise blue waters, white-sand beaches, dancing palm trees and glowing sun that created the blissful ambiance of the day, Skylar’s reaction when he first saw his bride walking down the aisle, their beachside portraits with a never-ending pastel sunset, and the first look with Lauren’s dad will make you tear up and wish you were there yourself!

It was an honour for Ali and I to have gotten to know these two kind and generous humans. It was a wonderful experience to capture their love, first during their epic Wakefield quarry engagement shoot, intimate backyard Arnprior ceremony, and now, in Mexico at our first official destination wedding.

It was also very difficult to choose a handful of favourites from their wedding, because let’s be real, it was sort of out-of-this-world. So, enjoy the many many favourites below and let me know what you think
