Sometimes I have to pinch myself when I realize that this is my job. Connecting with people on such a personal, deep level that would not have been made otherwise. Freezing a moment in time in their lives and preserving it in a photograph (Ed Sheeran’s voice just popped into my head!). Capturing joyful, authentic emotions. Creating artful imagery. And it’s even more rewarding when I take a few moments to select my favourite wedding images of 2017.
I had SO MUCH FUN putting this post together today! I was smiling like a giddy old fool selecting my favourite engagement photos of 2017.
It's no secret that I'm a little obsessed with engagement photos. It's such a wonderful, fleeting time in a couple's life that deserves to be preserved. And besides, I get to witness so much love and sweetness and connect with my couples before the big day. It's a win-win for everyone!
Both my current and 2018 amazing, gorgeous, sweet, laid-back couples are featured.
To say 2017 has been a beautiful, chaotic mess is an understatement.
We started off with a bang with the birth of our baby girl, Hayat, in January. And she would be destined to travel A LOT in her first year of life with wide-eyed parents like hers! We took Hayat, at age 4 months, to Cape Town, South Africa. To Dubai. Then to Canada for a few months. Then to Qatar for another few more. Then to Oman in the mountains at age 11 months.
Jeanette and Michael celebrated their fall wedding day on top of the city at the new Andaz Hotel (Andaz Ottawa Byward Market). They wanted a classy, intimate, luxurious but laid back affair, so the Cooper Spirits and Sites rooftop terrace at the Andaz, Ottawa’s tallest rooftop lounge overlooking Parliament Hill, was the perfect spot.
When I met Tori to chat about her fall wedding, she described it as a fusion of minimal, industrial and tropical. Combining the taste of creative, vibrant people like Tori and Tristan, at Ottawa’s premier waterfront wedding venue, Zibi, with the design and planning expertise of Elise from Toast Events, you can expect nothing short of a unique, artistic experience.
