I had the opportunity to second shoot for my friend Ashley Notley during this year's wedding season and it was an absolute treat to photograph alongside her for Jess and Chris's wedding at Stanley's Olde Maple Lane Farm right outside of Ottawa. Despite a broken down bus of guests delaying the start of the ceremony and the threat of thundershowers looming up above, Jess and Chris were absolute troopers! They shared an intimate and emotional first look ahead of the main events which pretty much got Ashley and I on the brink of bawling, and laughed the night away with their hilarious group of friends and family.
Featured: Ottawa's Best Light and Airy Photographers
We're honoured to have been featured by Toast Events earlier this month as one of "Ottawa's Best Light and Airy Photographers" alongside other amazing photographers who we've admired for years. Batoul has had the privilege of working with Elise and her incredibly talented team this year and we can say that her flair for styling, incredible attention to detail and ability to bring to life any bride's vision is on point.
Jocelyn + Steve | Ottawa Wedding At the School House
Steve thought she was the prettiest girl in the room. With her witty sense of humour and vivacious laugh, he knew he had to get to know her as she sat down next to him during their acting class. They soon found out that they shared many loves. Acting, teaching, history, a yearning for meaningful and lasting relationships and each other.
Ottawa Boat Cruise Nautical Wedding | Hanan + Said
Hanan got ready at her parent's place surrounded by beautiful pink roses from her mother's garden. She had such thoughtful cufflinks made for her fiance - now husband - Said, engraved with the words 'happiness' and 'kindness', which is what 'Hanan' and 'Said' mean in Arabic. You two are indeed the kindness people I've ever met, and it showed in the amount of love and happiness overflowing from your family and friends as they watched you two tie the knot at your wedding last weekend.
Wedding Wednesday: Tips on Personalizing Your Bridal Jewelry
As all my friends know, I am a jewelry fiend in love with big statement pieces and long-lasting heirlooms. And yes, the two can definitely go together if worn with the right attitude. As I type, I'm wearing my grandmother's turquoise stone on one finger and shiny gold beads around my neck dangling down my sweater. The most recent pieces in my collection (yes I do now have a collection!) have a special place in my heart. They remind me of the times of wandering through hidden alleyways, experiencing unique cultures and being by Ali's side full of love and excitement. I've begun selecting pieces that reflect my personality so that I'll appreciate them for the long haul.
