*Drum roll*...our first publication has been featured on one of Batoul's favourite wedding blogs, The Perfect Palette! It was such a blast putting this shoot together with the brains of the operation, Rasha from Pearl Decor.
As some of you may know, we are travel mongers. We (well, Ali) loves planning where the best places are to pick up the most authentic, delicious and halal meals which usually end up being holes in the walls. We (again, Ali), research the most unique sites to visit and gain insight into history behind them. We (ahem...Ali), set out to find cute airbnb accommodations or rocking boutique hotels in the heart of town that's walking distance to everything while being kind to the wallet.
This winter, we tried to keep things warm with a glam shoot featuring an all-star cast. This was the scene: wild greenery, winter fruit tastebuds and vintage mismatched furniture meets metallic red lips, a multi-layered jewelled necklace over a Truvelle designed wedding dress from The Handmade Bride - the 'Carolina'. All of this amidst a backdrop of red, pink, gold and navy hues. The end result was an old hollywood rendition of glamorous with a dash of funk.
This year ever been a rollercoaster ride! Its been the most challenging, inspiring, exhausting, rewarding year we’ve had in a long time. Amidst several house moves, launching our photography business, taking up new habits (coffee and Netflix anyone?) and getting rid of old ones (bad breakfast routines), this year has been a year of efficient teamwork, challenging our boundaries and embracing change. We can only look back and be proud of all the incredible things we have been a part of.
It was such a pleasure to photograph an evening of inspiration, the first of hopefully many holiday socials for Ottawa's wedding community, Noel en Noir (Christmas in Black), organized by the wonderful delights: Elise from Toast Events, Sophie from Sage Designs and Jessica from Le Belvedere. Taking the time to sit back, relax and enjoy an evening of glamour and fun is the perfect way to pat ourselves on the back on a job well-done for 2015.
