I think 2018 was our biggest year ever on all fronts, both business and personal. We moved back to Canada after two years living between Doha and Ottawa, we found out we were expecting right before wedding season began and had a baby on December 31st, just in time to ring in the new year in style! We shot the weddings of the sweetest, kindest and funniest couples who we connected with so perfectly. It felt like we were photographing our friends’ weddings, so there were lots of tears (from Batoul) streaming down our faces throughout many first looks, ceremonies and speeches.
Although this blog post comes in later than I had hoped (the blame is all on baby Z who came a few days earlier than expected so this blog post has been delayed for 2.5 months!), I still feel the need to share just a slice of my favourite photos from our 2018 weddings. I mean, there are almost 200 images here, and it was SO hard to choose my favourites. So sit back, relax, and take all these beautiful moments in. I’ve linked each wedding to the full feature blog, so if you’re itching for more, click on the added links I’ve created!
To start things off, Ann-Lori and Ryan’s luxury and urban All Saints Events Centre wedding, planned and designed by The Design Co, blew my mind! From the gorgeous church-turned-wedding-venue to the tropical-design details, everything looked like something out of a magazine!
Where there are big, beautiful, garden-style bouquets, there is Brittany from Frid Events. Emily and Jonah threw a kick-ass wedding party and sang + played music + danced late into the night. Here is the full feature of their Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello wedding.
An intimate flower-filled affair at Christine and Liam’s Westboro home was beautiful in so many ways. Planned, designed and executed by Elise of Toast Events, it was a fine art masterpiece with the best vegetarian food I’ve ever had! Here’s the full feature of their intimate flower-filled wedding.
With the help of Frid Events, Genevieve and Jason elevated the typical rustic barn wedding to a luxurious, wild-flowered garden delight! One of my favourite colour palettes ever. Their full French countryside wedding can be seen here.
The sweetest couple you’ll ever meet and such perfect style is Camille and Joey. Mixed and matching their dresses and white flowers all around took my breath away! And she planned and executed all this on her own. DIYers should be inspired by this awesome bride! Their full wedding can be seen here.
Lanark county, meet Katie and Cole!
When Elise of Toast Events takes hold of your wedding, you know it’s going to be the most beautiful affair with lots of neutral tones and greens to fulfill your wedding dreams. Liz and Ryan were of course the typical ‘Ali & Batoul’ couple - witty, wild and the best sense of humour a photographer could ask for. The full feature of their Andaz wedding is right over here.
When travellers + foodies + super stylish people come together, you get a Chateau Laurier + Andaz morning, a Sussex Contemporary ceremony and a Restaurant E18hteen night! Laura and Chris’s wedding can be seen here.
Laura exuded the happiest-bride-alive feels. Their Orchard View Wedding was everything classic and beautiful. Oh, and lots of fancy fascinators for the win!
Natasha and Rich hired me two years ago and I was counting down the months to their wedding for that long! They chose Stonefields for their wedding venue. With its white-washed interior barn and crystal chandeliers, they celebrated their special day in the most beautiful venue in and around town! Their boho Stonefields Loft wedding can be seen here.
A tornado struck the night before, but that didn’t stop Maxine and Felix from saying their I dos the next day. They celebrated at Beckta eating the best waffles and freshest fruit at their brunch wedding.
Wild-flowers galore! Laura and Dan celebrated their wedding at Evermore with the most beautiful flower arrangements I have ever seen! Done by the talented Katherine of Pollen Nation Floral Studios of course. Their most magical boho wedding can be seen here.
Kaylea and Chris’s wedding at the Best Western in Perth was all glitz and glamour and beautifully executed by Marianne of Heirloom Events. You can see the full feature of their glamorous Perth wedding here.
A ceremony right in front of the St Lawrence river?! Yes to that! Tim and Emma - thank you for bringing us to Kingston at the Renaissance Events Venue to celebrate your love with your family and friends.
